Since the completion of the Climate Solutions Road Tour, our road tour celebrations have taken a new form. As a part of the Youth Entrepreneurial Green Awards, we were able to showcase an incredible number of youth-led climate solutions which we celebrated through an awards ceremony at the Renewable Energy Expo in Delhi in August. We will be showcasing more youth-led urban development projects at the India Habitat Summit in late September.

We are still organizing and partnering in concerts and musical events to celebrate climate change solutions. In late July 2009, we partnered to organize the Hariyali Teej Festival with Red Earth as a part of the Monsoon Festival. It was a great chance to showcase bicycling, sustainable event management, and eco-products!

Himachal Waste Management

Dear Neelam,

There's a lot going on in Himachal Pradesh -- I met a great group in Manali that is now planning a day of action for October 24 (the international day of action organized by the group 350.org) by collecting all of the waste in Manali with 700 youth volunteers and bringing it to a central location where people can then see how waste is segregated, composted, and turned into 350 art.

In Shimla, Anil (from himalayansites.com) is working to create HP IYCN chapter and to get work going on in many other parts of the mountains.

In Spiti Valley, EcoSphere is working to promote eco tourism, sustainable farming, and very excitingly waste management!
